I've Been Acting In Tequila Mockingbird Productions Since Before They Were Tequila Mockingbird

Hello TMP readers! My name is Danielle DellaPorta. I am a young actress and filmmaker who has worked with the Tequila Mockingbird (TMP) team for a few years now. I first met them when I was 16 going on 17, on Thresa (T) Richardson’s movie Strayed where I was the lead. After that experience, T and I stayed in contact.

But my first time actually working with TMP was on their short film called Azteca Dieteca where they asked me last minute to be in it, due to the original actress having a family emergency. From that point on we became really good friends, and worked together on other projects later on down the line.

I remember thinking these people had this production stuff really down, because I had worked on a lot of sets that weren’t the big tv productions, and the way they handled their sets, cast, and crew seemed very unprofessional and childish… but with TMP it’s different. They like to make their sets a fun experience, but they also know that when it is time for business there is no time to play around, and they really do a good job at making sure everyone is well rehearsed and put together. They also know how to handle really difficult actors that are just plain disrespectful. Which I really enjoy from an actor’s point of view because it makes my job a lot easier.

With this production team they have allowed me to play many different roles that I would have to beat thousands of other girls out to do. From Strayed, to Azteca, to Looking In, and my short film that I wrote, directed, and starred in called The Note which talked about something very near and dear to my heart… well the positive side of it… This team really puts their whole heart and energy into all their projects.

They really allowed me to do so much, things I never dreamed of as a little girl being bullied for wanting to do something more with my life than a 9-5 desk job like everyone else in Texas. I started acting and modeling at the age of 10 in Dallas and Austin, and by 12 my life was flipped upside down. I started getting bullied really badly. It got so bad that my life was being threatened by these people and my family was also being threatened. We had people writing death threats to me and my family, all because I didn’t wanna be boring and wanted to chase something big. And it didn’t matter where and what school my parents moved me to in Texas, the harassment followed me…to the point where I was in 8th grade, they decided to up and move me to Los Angeles to pursue my dreams of being in the film industry. So I am very blessed to still be alive and chasing my dreams.

I hope to maybe write the real story behind The Note and produce it to share the trauma I went through. And I hope the TMP team will be the ones to help me with all the production stuff. I highly recommend them to do anything and everything. They truly give their all for their projects. It’s impressive.

Thank you for reading!
